The long-delayed production of the new Highlander has once again been put on hold — this time due to an injury suffered by Henry Cavill. The actor shared photos of his recovery on social media, and it seems that a cast was unavoidable.
Judging by the pictures, Cavill seriously injured his left ankle, which appears to have been immobilized with a cast. If it turns out to be a fracture, the actor may be forced to take an extended break from filming. Unfortunately, no details about the incident itself have been revealed.
Cavill accompanied his post with an excerpt from Invictus, the poem by English writer William Ernest Henley. Another notable detail in the photo is a Warhammer 40,000 novel. Cavill is a longtime fan of the grimdark universe, and in 2023 Amazon Studios announced that a series based on the tabletop franchise was in development, with Cavill himself attached as producer.
Previously, Dave Bautista, who plays the antagonist in the upcoming Highlander reboot, praised the film and compared it to John Wick. The adaptation is being directed by Chad Stahelski, best known for the John Wick series, with Henry Cavill set to play the lead role.
