Bobby Kotick Believes That Microsoft Has No Place in the Gaming Industry

It turns out that the former head of Activision Blizzard did not believe in Microsoft's success in the gaming industry at all. A few years ago, Bobby Kotick even advised the corporation's CEO to leave the industry.
He told the Grit podcast that he met with Satya Nadella after he took over as the head of Microsoft. The latter asked Bobby Kotick how they should develop gaming divisions against the backdrop of Xbox's problems, to which the Activision Blizzard boss replied as follows:
Dude, you shouldn't be in gaming. You're not a creative company. Like, you should buy Workday or something like SAP.
Moreover, the purchase of Activision Blizzard in 2023 for $68.7 billion only confirmed his words, Bobby Kotick believes. In his opinion, Microsoft simply could not survive in the industry with what it had on hand before the deal.
Recall that the infamous Activision Blizzard CEO left his post in 2023 after 32 years of service.
Microsoft recently said that they would like to use AI to save old games. However, gamers did not take the news enthusiastically.
