Players have been racing through Sonic Racing: Crossworlds on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox for a week now, but Nintendo fans are still waiting for the Switch 2 version.

In an interview with Traxion, Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka explained that the release had to be postponed due to the late arrival of the new console itself.

According to Iizuka, the content will be identical to the original Switch version, but the new edition will “make full use of the console’s potential.”

There’s no release date yet for Sonic Racing: Crossworlds on Switch 2, but Sega promises it will be worth the wait — and both critics and players already seem to agree. The game has been praised for its quality and received an overwhelmingly positive reception.
