How to Meet the Blacksmith

At the beginning of the game, when you're with Sir Jan in the Troskovice tavern, Henry will have the opportunity to meet the miller Kreysel and the blacksmith Radovan. Both want to see the young man as their apprentice and will help him get to the wedding. You can complete quests for both, however, the miller, as in the first part, offers tasks related to theft, while the blacksmith will teach Henry honest work. Head to Radovan in the village of Tachov to start the quest "Blacksmith's Son."

How to Start Forging

Initially, you must prove to Radovan that he was right to offer Henry the position of his apprentice. At the same time, the player will be taught the forging mechanic. Overall, it's a fairly engaging mini-game, similar to alchemy. First, you choose an item. The options depend on known recipes as well as available resources. Radovan will hint that everything needed for test samples is in the box right there at the forge. Make a cleaver. Heat the blank in the fire, then start hammering it. Two important rules — sparks should fly from the strike, and the strikes should not be in the same place consecutively. If you ignore this, you might break the blank.

There is a third rule — strike in time with the whistle, but no matter how hard we tried, we couldn't figure out the rhythm of the whistle and when exactly to strike to keep the whistle going. Our advice is simple — strike steadily, without paying attention to the whistle at all.

During the strikes, the piece needs to be turned, and it will gradually cool down. If the metal is completely cold, Henry will suggest heating it again. Radovan will be satisfied with the result and will even provide you with a room with a chest for free, where you can store all unnecessary items. Such chests are available near almost every personal bed of Henry, and you can retrieve necessary items at any time. After all this, Radovan will mention that he has a more interesting task.
