In the world of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, every step can lead to unexpected discoveries, and every story to exciting adventures. The quest X Marks the Spot takes you to the heart of intrigue and deception, where the promise of treasure hides something more. In this guide, we will describe a detailed walkthrough of the quest.
In Kuttenberg, find the innkeeper Wolfram Raus, located on the southern outskirts of the village of Przhitoki. Start a conversation with him and ask about the news. He will inform you that a builder named Krizhan was looking for workers.
Head to the construction site of the fortress in Przhitoki and find the laborer Krizhan. Engage in a conversation with him and inquire about work. He will say that you are not suitable for the role of a builder. However, he found a treasure map in the fortress, but it is of no use to him since he is illiterate and cannot decipher it. The only thing he could understand is that the treasure is hidden in some adit.
Krizhan will offer you to buy the map for a relatively small sum. If you purchase the map, the quest will be activated.
A thorough examination of the map suggests that the location of the treasury might be situated north of Kont-Gora, in close proximity to the Sedlec Monastery. By following the mark on the map, you will be able to discover a treasure seekers' camp.
Near the adit, other treasure seekers await you. Negotiations with them are impossible, which means the following paths are open to you:
To continue the quest, you have two options:
The fate of the bandits, whether they remain alive or not, will not affect the quest's outcome.
Realizing that you were deceived, return to Krizhan and demand an explanation from him. To find out the truth, you can either use force, limited to a few blows, or try to persuade him to tell everything voluntarily. But if you decide to intimidate him, although you will get your money back, you will lose reputation and not learn the whole story.
Krizhan confesses that he drew the map himself and lied about his illiteracy. It turns out that he once studied in Prague, but after his parents' death, he had to drop out. To save up for education, he got a job as a builder and then started forging maps and selling them to gullible adventurers.
Now you have a choice: you can demand your money back for the deception or show generosity. You can allow him to keep the money in exchange for a promise that he will go back to studying and stop deceiving people. In gratitude for your generosity, he will teach you crafting skills.
You can steal the map from Krizhan before starting the quest or after the first conversation when you refuse to purchase the item. However, when you realize that this map will not lead you to treasure, you, of course, will not be able to make any claims against the laborer Krizhan.
This adventure is not just about treasure hunting but also a story about choice, honesty, and the consequences that certain decisions can bring. The only reward for this trial that you can receive is an improvement in crafting skills.
