Judging by the video, players got their hands on the very beginning of the game — the clip features a tutorial of the basic mechanics. The protagonist wakes up on a space station, from which he must escape straight into the streets of a futuristic city while fleeing pursuers. It’s clear that at least part of the game was fully prepared for release at the time — voice acting, cutscenes, core mechanics, minimap, controls, and other elements were already implemented.
The game was announced in 2011 by Human Head Studios under Bethesda’s supervision. The sequel’s story followed Captain Killian Samuels, who was abducted onto an alien ship and ended up on their planet Exodus, becoming a mercenary. However, in 2014 the game was canceled without explanation. Later reports suggested that Prey 2’s quality did not meet the publisher’s expectations, leading to the project’s closure.
After the cancellation, Arkane Studios released Prey in 2017, which has no connection to the previous games in the series.
We previously reported on earlier Prey 2 leaks in this article. Incidentally, we also showcased concept art from the canceled remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, which was being developed by Aspyr.
