Bad Hotel combines tower defense with procedurally generated music. The player is a budding entrepreneur whose hotel lies in the territory of Tarnation Tadstock, a Texas tyrant. To hold off Tadstock’s army of seagulls, rats, yetis, and other creatures, the player builds up the hotel and equips it with increasingly sophisticated weapons.
Music is generated in response to the player’s actions and decisions, so defending the hotel also involves composing complex musical structures. The system can produce a range of styles, from relaxed beach music to country banjo techno.
