A platforming roguelite with action elements, Bard's Gold follows a bard as he journeys through eerie worlds in search of the goblin who stole his gold. The player navigates dangerous dungeons, collects gems and treasure, and finds skill books that grant new abilities.
Level layouts are randomly selected on each playthrough, while collected gems can be spent to upgrade the character after a game over. New weapons and gear help prepare for further challenges. The game leaves players to figure out its rules and basic mechanics as they go.
