An open-world life simulator about caring for a dog and exploring its surroundings. The dog needs food, water, sleep, exercise and entertainment, with activities ranging from playing with toys and barking to marking territory and chasing squirrels. Six need meters track its condition, while dangers can lead to a visit to the vet or death; a dead dog cannot be brought back.
In Dogstown and nearby areas, including the woods and a cemetery, the dog can dig for bones and coins, play retro arcade games and find music records. The player can furnish a home, host parties for other dogs and look for ways to keep the pet fed. Dogs hatch from eggs and come in 70 breeds across seven types; the player can develop a dog or start over with a new one.
