A puzzle-platform game in which Mario sets out to rescue Pauline from Donkey Kong. It opens with a reimagining of the arcade game’s levels, then introduces 97 original stages with mechanics drawn from Donkey Kong Jr. and Super Mario Bros. 2.
Mario must avoid obstacles and find a key to advance through each stage. The game combines platforming challenges with puzzles that call for planning, and Donkey Kong’s son appears on some levels to help his father.
