This role-playing game with action and horror elements is set in a retro-futuristic world plunged into a man-made ice age. The protagonist becomes stranded in the sealed experimental city of Duga-40 and must survive, repair a vehicle, and continue the journey to the Resistance, a camp formed by the last human survivors.
Players explore an open world with procedurally generated locations, buildings, loot, and enemies, encountering survivors, armed bandits, and alien hybrids. Survival involves managing hunger, thirst, and sleep, using stealth, cooking food, and crafting weapons, traps, and defenses. Progress reveals the city’s history and brings encounters with other survivors; the game features three main characters, a normal mode, and a mode where death ends the run.
