Lovely Planet is a first-person shooter set in a colorful abstract world, where the player fights through five enemy-filled worlds on the way to a distant destination. The game has no narrated story: its focus is on jumping, dodging bullets and firing a semi-automatic weapon with unlimited ammunition. The protagonist can jump high and move quickly, so progress depends on evading attacks and timing shots rather than waiting behind cover.
The game features one hundred levels to complete and master. Players earn stars for their runs and can set world records, while secrets are hidden throughout the worlds. Its core gameplay combines accurate shooting with jumps and evasive movement to avoid enemy fire.
