Mastema: Out of Hell is a pixel-art platformer about a lost soul trapped in Hell and trying to reach the real world. The protagonist has no memory of a past life and comes into possession of a flaming weapon after a clash between an angel and a demon. The journey through the underworld may restore those memories and reveal the reason for the soul’s death and punishment.
Players run, jump, collect special weapons, and fight demons and bosses as they make their way through the levels. The hazards include deadly traps, perilous jumps, crumbling platforms, and movable bridges. The game features 20 locations and more than 55 playable levels, with eight level-ending bosses and a final boss.
