A futuristic platformer about the android X battling rogue robots that threaten civilians. The story unfolds in a world where humans coexist with intelligent robots called Reploids, some of whom turn against society. Three Mavericks known as the X-Hunters seek to destroy the hero.
Players tackle 2D stages in any order, fighting enemies and bosses, collecting upgrades, and gaining each boss’s special weapon after defeating them. X can run, jump, dash, fire his hand cannon, and climb walls; optional armor parts grant additional abilities.
