R4 Ridge Racer Type 4

R4 Ridge Racer Type 4 — racing with a first and third person view. Vehicles are earned by playing in Grand Prix mode. Players choose one of four teams; RC Micro Mouse Mappy (France), Pac Racing Club (Japan), Racing Team Solvalou (Italy) and Dig Racing Team (USA), each with different difficulties, and one of four manufacturers; Age Solo (France), Lizard (USA), Assoluto (Italy) and Terrazi (Japan), which determine the style of the car and the type of Powerslide the player will use. In each race, the player must try to achieve a qualifying position, and in later stages, players need to achieve higher positions in order to qualify. Depending on the qualifying position in each race, players will be awarded a new car or an upgrade to their current one, depending on their team and manufacturer, with the best cars awarded for consistently higher positions. There are a total of 320 cars racing with each team combination.
