This first-person shooter with fighting-game elements is set in modern-day Japan. After his fiancée is kidnapped and her father is murdered, the protagonist travels from Los Angeles to Tokyo to confront a rival gang. Combat combines katana attacks with firearms, sword combos, and a focus ability that slows time and allows several enemies to be targeted at once.
Fighting skills can be used to defeat opponents or earn their respect and loyalty by sparing them. The game also includes split-screen multiplayer modes.
