This Metroidvania action RPG is set in an alternate 1898 London, where an otherworldly Citadel has unleashed eldritch creatures on the city. The player explores its interconnected areas, uncovers shortcuts and fights the monsters in an effort to rid London of the threat. Knowledge of the previous game in the Skautfold series is not required.
Combat revolves around defense: precisely timed dodges convert some incoming damage into Guard points, while a reflective shield can turn enemy projectiles back against their owners. Characters can be developed across eight stats, with the option to reallocate them, and the game features more than 90 weapons and spells. Alongside secrets and optional bosses, additional modes include no-Guard, one-hit-point, permadeath and built-in speedrunning.
