This arcade space shooter set in the Star Wars universe follows the Rebel Alliance’s fight against the Galactic Empire after the destruction of the first Death Star. Luke Skywalker and Wedge Antilles assemble Rogue Squadron, a group of experienced pilots, and the player takes part in battles as Luke.
Missions take place in the air and across planetary surfaces, including dogfights, reconnaissance, search-and-destroy operations, bombing runs, and rescues. Players can fly X-wings, Y-wings, A-wings, and V-wings, as well as snowspeeders, against AT-AT and AT-ST walkers and TIE fighters. Routes cross water, canyons, deserts, and volcanic regions.
