This vertically scrolling arcade shooter is set during an attack on humanity by the Ver'mith. The only weapons capable of stopping them are Exelica and Crueltear, humanoid weapon systems with human-like personalities known as Triggerhearts. Each has a distinct combat style, and the campaign spans five stages with three difficulty settings.
A defining combat mechanic is the anchor shot, which can capture an enemy ship for use as a shield or send it back into battle to damage other foes. Boss encounters adjust to the player's performance: a low score makes bosses slightly easier, while a higher score increases the challenge.
