Platformer
En eski video oyunu türlerinden biri olan platform oyunu, özel bir oyun süreci ile karakterizedir. Oyuncu, seviyede hareket eden, "platformlar" üzerinde zıplayan, merdivenlerden tırmanan, nesneleri toplayan ve düşmanlarla savaşan bir karakteri kontrol eder. Düşmanların zekası genellikle ya zayıftır ya da tamamen yoktur. Bazı platform oyunları hız ve tepki üzerine odaklanırken, diğerleri daha çok bulmacalara benzer ve üçüncüsü, oyuncudan engelleri aşmak için doğru hareket kombinasyonunu gerektirir. Platform oyunlarının tür çeşitliliği oldukça geniştir.
